"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20

Welcome, Sarah!
I would like to welcome a second author to this blog. I added her today when I was adding the new gadgets you see. Sarah, also known as my sister, welcome to The Mr. Buckley Memorial Bible Mission! I hope you'll post well when you do write posts! And yes, this is the first time I've added someone to a blog!

An Announcement
This post is just meant to be a short announcement that this blog is reserved for our Bible mission, so, even though this is a Christian topic, there probably won't be a verse of the day like I have on my personal blog. There will probably be a verse posted here and there, but this blog is set apart just for the Bible mission. So obviously there will be verses occasionally but not every day.

About Us and the Mission
Mr. Buckley, who we named this Bible mission after, was definitely a missionary. And just because you don't move away to be a missionary doesn't mean you can't be one. So, in referring to this, I am saying that Mr. Buckley did something similar to what we're doing ~ only he did it all the time and in larger quantities. He collected, sorted, and shipped Bibles to places around the world.
When he suddenly passed away in October of last year, my church did a Bible drive in memory of him. And, since Anna, Sarah, Jillian and I were almost done with ours, we included our Bibles in with the church Bible drive. A man about Mr. Buckley's age announced at the Thanksgiving church service of 2014 that if we had weighed all of the Bibles, it would have been over 2 tons.
Another reason why we've named our Bible mission after him is because he gave us a lot of advice when we were looking to do our first shipment. He gave us a lot of information as well as the exact address to ship them to. When we had finished our first collection, we were planning to ship the Bibles using $30-$35 that the four of us had in our treasury. However, when we discovered that my church was doing a Bible drive, we gave a donation of $25 to the Gideons International in Mr. Buckley's memory.
That was just a little bit about Mr. Buckley and what he did, but now we're moving on to our mission. I suppose I should make sure everyone was introduced ~ our names are Anna, Sarah, Jillian, and Chandler (me or tigerowner79). However, I will not give out last names due to the risks of doing so. We have been very good friends for at least 3-4 years now ~ we had known each other since birth, but not as well as we do today. We have always had a donation to charity in mind here and there ~ including donations to an animal shelter and Boston Children's Hospital. However, those ideas were long gone soon after due to various causes. Now, we have an ongoing Bible mission on our minds. Well, we may not always be doing it, but I hope to do at least 2-3 shipments every year if it's okay with the other three. Anyway, last year, just the four of us shipped 45 books which included Bibles. There was also a lot of other Christian literature. We filled 2, I believe it was, of the big boxes that my church had set aside for the Bible drive. It may have only been one, but 2 were brought into my house. If we could achieve that accomplishment a year ago, we know we're perfectly capable of doing it again.
And in closing, I know this may draw a bit away from the topic at hand, but how do you like the template for this blog? Since it shows some of the world including some of Africa where our Bibles often go, I thought it would be the perfect one for this topic. I love how it suits the topic!
Now I will be done with this long post. If you have any questions about what we're doing, please leave them in the comments. I will provide more information in another post on a later day.

Welcome!
Hello readers, and welcome to The Mr. Buckley Memorial Bible Mission. This is a Bible drive run by the four of us: Anna, Jillian, Sarah and Chandler (also known as me or tigerowner79). Our last Bible drive we shipped 45 books including Bibles, commentaries and other topics of Christianity. I am exhausted right now as I have been working for charity for 10 hours, but I hope to make another post tomorrow with a lot more information. Thanks for reading!
